Robert L Helton

Robert ( Bob ) Helton age 85, of Paducah, Kentucky passed away surrounded by his family on February 25, 2016.

He is survived by his wife, of 61 years Mary Charles Helton: two sons, Robert Alan Helton ( Dora ) and Greg Helton and daughter Julie Good: sister Linda Helton and a brother James Ray Helton; ten grandchildren Angela, Aaron, Taylor, April, Cody, Amber, Catherine, Krista, Keegan and Sean; great grandchildren Sydney, Cade, Brady, Kasey, Fable and Quest. He was preceded in death by his parents Bob and Myrtle Helton along with four brothers and one sister and grandchildren Austin Hayes and Mary Margaret Good. Robert worked in the river industry for National Marine for 50 years; 40 of those in Woodriver, Illinois where he received many commendations including having a tug boat, The S.S. Bob Helton, named in his honor. Since his retirement he loved to spend summers on Kentucky Lake and winters in Brownsville, Texas.

Visitation will be held at Keeling Family Funeral Home Sunday February 28, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. till 5:00 p.m. The funeral service will be officiated by Rev. Jimmy Franks and take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 29, 2016 at Keeling Family Funeral Home. he will be laid to rest at the Maplelawn Park Cemetery.
