Ray Dean Edmonds, age 67, who was born in Paducah, KY and moved to Virginia to enlist in the Navy, went to be with his Lord on August 24, 2023, at the VA Hospice Center in Glen Allen, VA. Ray met and married his wife, Cheryl, and made their home in Virginia. He was a member of Staple Mills Road Baptist Church in Glen Allen, VA, and served in the US Navy & Army Reserve.
Ray is survived by his wife, Cheryl Ann; his mother, Shelby Gross of Paducah; his brother, Robert (Debbie) Edmonds of Paducah; one sister, Faye (Don) Fisher of Warsaw, MO; one brother, Carter (Brenda) Edmonds of Lebanon, TN; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his dad, Jay Gross; father/mother-in-law, Sonny and Jean Young; one brother-in-law, Michael; and his nephew, Brandon Fisher.
A Memorial Service to honor his life will be held at Southland Baptist Temple in Paducah on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at 2:30 PM with Bro. Jimmy Franks officiating. Burial will be Monday, September 11, 2023, at 1:00pm at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville, KY.
