Phillip Perry

October 5, 1949 — August 11, 2021

Phillip Andrew Perry, age 71 of Gilbertsville, passed away on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at Mercy Health Lourdes Hospital in Paducah.  He was born the son of the late Layton M. Perry, Sr. and the late Bette J. Perry.  Also preceded in death by his brother, Layton M. Perry, Jr.

He is survived by his wife: Sandra “Sandy” Falk Perry of Gilbertsville, KY; his sons: Christopher A. Perry (Lauren) of Gypsum CO, and Ryan A. Perry of Gilbertsville; his brother: Henry C. Perry, Sr. (Jane); his sister: Elizabeth “Betsy” K. VanWyhe (Scott); his grandchild: Palmer Rose Perry; and many wonderful nieces and nephews.

Phil shared himself in so many ways over his life. He took great joy in coaching his two sons in soccer and basketball, was an avid rock music trivia buff, served as a City Councilman for the City of Mission, KS, and was a respected designer and contractor. He loved the KC Chiefs, the Kansas Jayhawks, and riding his Harley with his wife of 44 years, Sandy. Over the last year he fell in love with his first grandchild, Palmer Rose.

Phil took pride in his service to our nation in the Army.  In tribute to his memory, donations may be made to the Veterans Community Project.  https://www.veteranscommunityproject.org/give
