Josephine "Jody" Opiola

Josephine "Jody" Opiola, 73, of Benton, KY passed away on Monday, July 8, 2024, at Stonecreek Health & Rehab in Paducah, KY. Jody was born on June 18, 1951, in Chicago, IL, to her late parents, Izzy and Roberta "Babe" Fiorito. She was a woman of unwavering faith, following the Catholic beliefs she held dear throughout her life. She found true joy in making others laugh and dedicated herself to helping anyone and everyone she could. She enjoyed spending her free time traveling at any opportunity she was given and putting puzzles together.

Jody is survived by her loving husband, Robert Opiola of Benton; her son, John Opiola (Kelsie Thompson) of Marion, IL; her daughter, Rachael Opiola (Tony and kids) of Gilbertsville, KY; her brother, Jack Fiorito (Sue) of Tallahassee, FL; as well as her beloved cat Cleo and all of her four-legged grandpets that she loved as grandchildren.

A graveside service  will be held on Friday, July 12, 2024, in the chapel at Maplelawn Park Cemetery & Mausoleum in Paducah, KY. The service will begin at 1:00 PM to commemorate a life beautifully lived.
