Jimmy Oliver Moore, age 78 of Paducah, KY. went to his heavenly home peacefully at 8:55 a.m. on Tuesday morning February 28, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his loved ones.
Jimmy loved spending time with his family, including his nine grandchildren and two great granddaughters.. He was talented in many areas. He loved to work with wood, building cars from scraped lumber, he loved to hunt, fish, and spend time outdoors. He was quick witted, never meeting a stranger, tender hearted and could make people laugh until their cheeks hurt. He was full of stories and tall tails. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force stationed in Anchorage Alaska.He help establish Plaza Tire in 1963. He retired from Montgomery Ward as service manager after 21 years. He later started his own business of Moore's Refrigeration. He is survived by his wife Sharon Kaye Smith Moore of 53 years. Three children son, James Todd Moore his wife Carmen of Ledbetter, KY. two daughters, Lori Ann Morgan of Paducah, KY. and Amanda Nicole McDonald of Ledbetter, KY. nine grandchildren, Ashley Howry and husband John, Kyle Morgan, Austin Moore and wife Santana, Kaytlin Morgan, Kaylee Morgan, Olivia McDonald, Hannah McDonald, Chandler McDonald and Noah McDonald. Two great granddaughters, Jovi Moore and Ziyah Morgan. Three brothers, David Moore, Jackie Moore, Frank Moore. Four sisters, Effie Shurtz, Maggie Ratliff, Clarsie Jennings and Judy Gregory. Many nieces and nephews great nieces and great nephews. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, A.L. (Jack) Moore and Mattie Florence Zook Moore, four brothers, Lawson Moore, Elmer ( Pee Wee) Moore, Albert Moore and Lonnie Moore, one sister, Ruby Patrick. Pallbearers for Jimmy will be, Kyle Morgan, Austin Moore, Chandler McDonald, Noah McDonald John Howry and Scott McDonald. Honorary Pallbearers, brother-in laws, Jerry Mouser, Ronald Huckabee, Jeff Dalton, Joel Smith, and David Smith and close friend Steve Smith.
Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday March 3, 2017 at the Keeling Family Funeral Home with Rev. Encil Edmonds, Rev. Mike Hunt, Rev. Richard Rhea, and Rev. Jack Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with Military Honors. Friends may visit with the family from 5:00 p.m. till 8:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home and from 9:00 a.m. till funeral hour Friday at the funeral home.
