James Albert Streit

James Albert Streit age  83 of Paducah passed away Monday May 26, 2014 at 5:00 p.m. at his residence.

Mr. Streit was a native of  Paducah, Kentucky. He was an active member of the St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church and the  American Legion Chief Paduke Chapter. He was a 1949 graduate of Reidland High School and attended the Wayne State University in Detroit MI.., he served his country for 4 years in the  United States  Coast Guard and retired after 42 years of service  as a sheet metal worker for Hannin Roofing and Sheet Metal. He was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Local 110. He is survived  by two sons, James Robert Streit and John Eric Streit (Jenna Lecce  Streit ), three grandchildren, J. R. Streit, Hannah Streit  and  Sidney Lazarus Streit. He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Mary Alice Disney Streit, two sisters, Dorothy Crowley and Marie Buck and two brothers who died in infancy.

Funeral Mass is scheduled for 12 noon Monday June 2, 2014 at the St Francis de Sales Catholic Church with Rev. Brian Roby officiating. Burial will follow at the  Mount Carmel Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home Monday from 10:00 a.m. till 11:30 a.m.
