Frank Odell Lewis, 83, a great-great-grandfather, husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend to the Oak Level community in Marshall County, KY completed his journey from this life to the next at 7:27 PM on December 24, 2018 surrounded by his family at the wonderful Lourdes Hospice facility in Paducah, KY following a too brief battle with lymphoma.
Per his wishes, a celebration of his life will be held at Oak Level United Methodist Church, Saturday, January 5, 2019 beginning 2 PM with reception following at the church’s community center until 4PM. Friends and loved ones are welcome to attend.
Frank “Odell” attended school at Madison High School in Madison, IL and Stevinson Auto and Electrical School in Kansas City, MO. He worked for the Granite City, IL school system before becoming disabled in a work accident. In his later years he volunteered at The Marshall County Messenger and the Oak Level Market. He was a member of Oak Level United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years Karen Hagler Lewis; three sons Joey Lewis of Benton, KY; James Lewis; and Kevin Lewis (Ann) of Sugar Hill, GA; and two daughters Connie (David) Powell of Benton, KY and Jill (Randy) Herndon of Murray, KY; 18 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. He is also survived by one brother the Rev. Raymond (Loretta) Lewis, Benton, KY; and three sisters Christine Smith, Hayden, AL; Ruth Jorgensen, Buford, GA; and Betty Jo (Jerry) Stroud, Gilbertsville, KY; along with many beloved nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by his parents Joseph and Christa Lewis; son Leslie Lewis; granddaughter Katherine Lewis; and brothers William and Charles Douglas Lewis.
