Betty Jo Thorn

Betty Jo Taylor Thorn, age 84 of Paducah died Friday, June 10, 2022 at her residence.  She was born the daughter of the late Willie Taylor and the late Beulah Smith Taylor.  She had been an employee at Gillham Candy Company in Paducah.  Betty and her late husband also owned and operated Billie and Betty's Merchandise.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, traveling, being outdoors, making candy and camping.  She could often be found playing  video games.  She was a member of the 117 Symsonia Eastern Star.  Perhaps her greatest devotion was to God and her faith.  She was a member of Eastside Holiness Church.

Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at Keeling & Goodman Funeral Home in Paducah.  Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.  Visitation will be Tuesday, June 14, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.  Keeling & Goodman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She is survived by her daughter: Barbara Ledington of Paducah; her step-daughter: Barbara Fulton of Paducah, and Nancy Wright (James) of Illinois; her seven grandchildren; and her twelve great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Billie Joe Thorn; her first husband and the father of her children: Richard Lockett; her son: Richard S. Lockett;  her daughter: Dixie Bennett; her brothers:  James Taylor, Donald Taylor, Truman Taylor, and Jerry Taylor; her sisters: Floella Davenport, Dorothy Ort, Marie Gamble, Lucille Taylor, Imogene Thorn, Louise Heflin, and Peggy Taylor; her step-sons: Kenneth Thorn, and Willie Joe Thorn; and her step-daughter: Tanzie Blasingham.
